Responsibility

The Cool Rule "Get it Done," a skill taught in the Cool Kids resources, offers clear and specific steps for making a plan for completing work.  Guilde students to follow the steps below.

1.    Know what needs to be done.  Make a list of what needs to be done.  For each item, make a plan.

2.    Make a plan.  List the steps it will take to get the work done.  Decide when you will get each step done.

3.    Put the plan into action.

Use the "Get it Done Think Sheet" when a student is having difficulty getting work done.  On the "Think Sheet," the student lists the work that she or he is having difficulty completing.  The student lists the steps for where, when, and how he will complete the work.  The plan allows the teacher and student to follow up to check progress.
